Nalgonda: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday exuded confidence that TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath will win the by-election to Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency by a margin of 40,000 votes.

Participating in election campaign at Dharmapuram village of Madgulapally mandal in the district, Srinivas Yadav said TRS leaders were explaining to the people during the campaign about the development projects and welfare schemes taken up by the TRS government after the formation of Telangana State. “Congress leaders too can tell people what good, if any, their government in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had done for the constituency or Telangana during their elections campaign,” he added.

He said Congress candidate K Jana Reddy, who served as a minister for 14 years in erstwhile governments, should reveal the development that had taken place in the constituency during the period. He pointed out that Jana Reddy represented the seat in the Legislative Assembly for 35 years. “There were no proper roads and people faced several issues in the constituency during the tenure of Jana Reddy as MLA,” he said, and dubbed Jana Reddy’s claim that he had developed the constituency was false.

Stating that Congress leaders were only interested in seats and posts and not the welfare of the people, the Minister wondered how Jana Reddy, who failed to do anything for the constituency when his party was in power, could do anything now.

“The people of Nagarjuna Sagar constituency are not willing to believe his false claims and this is clear from the poor response to his campaign,” he said.

Stating that Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency started witnessing development only after formation of Telangana state due to the special focus laid by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said that the TRS government has shown what is real development and welfare of the people to the country in the last six and half years. The people of Nagarjuna Sagar would voluntarily support TRS in the by-elections for the further development of their area, he added.

Bhongir MLA Pylla Shaker Reddy also participated in the elections campaign.
