In Telangana’s Chandrugonda mandal, forest department personnel allegedly destroyed cotton crops cultivated on podu lands, leading to outrage among tribal farmers. Claiming a loss of Rs 50,000 per acre, the farmers plan to pursue legal action against the officials.
On Monday, a retired SCCL (Singareni Collieries Company Limited) employee encountered a sloth bear in Maddukur village of Chandrugonda mandal, resulting in severe bleeding injuries from the ensuing attack.
The deceased, Kanithi Sudheer, a Class 6 student of the Government Upper Primary School at the village was said to have asked his mother Kumari to give him Rs.10 to buy a notebook.
The deceased women belonging to SC Colony in Sujatha Nagar mandal were travelling in the goods vehicle to go to Chandrugonda to work in a chilli field there.
