Minister formally launched the check dams at Devarkadra and Narayanpet in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district

After digging a canal to connect the KLIS Canal and Kudavelly, Finance Minister T Harish Rao formally released the water into the canal last Tuesday

Stating that the check dams will be constructed in two phases, he said under phase I, construction of many checkdams had already been taken up on a war-footing under Mission Kakatiya.

The minister was addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for a check dam across Munneru river at Prakash Nagar on Thursday
