YouTube experienced a global outage impacting its homepage, recommendations, and apps including YouTube Music and Kids. Downdetector recorded over 3.2 lakh complaints in the U.S. and nearly 20,000 in India.

Internet infrastructure provider Cloudflare said on its status page earlier Tuesday that it identified an issue that was impacting multiple customers, including ChatGPT, social media platform X, League of Legends and other prominent internet services.

A major outage at Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Monday disrupted global access to numerous online platforms, including Alexa, ChatGPT, Snapchat, Fortnite, and Canva. The issue, traced to AWS’s US-EAST-1 region, caused increased error rates and latency across multiple services.

When checked on Downdetector, a website that tracks online service disruptions, there was a significant spike in outage reports for ChatGPT around 3:10 pm.

Users have reported difficulties in sending and receiving messages, with some also reporting problems with voice calls and other app functionalities.

This outage has caused trouble for many people, affecting their daily work and activities.

Microsoft admitted that an artificial increase in synthetic network traffic resulted in DNS issues.

According to outage monitoring portal Downdetector, the outage started around 7.30 pm before being fixed in about an hour.
