Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts received moderate to heavy rains, bringing relief to farmers worried about crop damage due to a prolonged dry spell. Despite rainfall deficits compared to normal averages, the showers revived hopes for paddy, cotton, and soyabean cultivation.

Since the distinct has been witnessing a prolonged dry spell, farmers were organising various programmes to appease rain gods across the district.

Though good rainfall was forecast by the IMD from July to September this year in the State, the dry spell that lasted for more than a couple of weeks had its bearing on all rain-fed crops.

However, the upcoming week is likely to see rains taking a backseat, with no significant precipitation expected. On Monday, temperatures soared, indicating the onset of the intense heat.

According to the IMD, the winter peak in Telangana is unlikely to make an appearance until November 16.

Nirmal district saw an average rainfall of 84.1 mm. Mudhole mandal received the highest rainfall of 122.2 mm, followed by Kaddampeddur mandal which had 113 mm of rainfall.
