Fire in an apartment complex named Golden Oriole in Puppalguda left a scary experience for residents, as fire tenders were unable to move into the complex. Fire service personnel had to station the tenders in neighbouring complex to control fire. None was injured.

The deceased workers were identified as V. Srivalli, 42, and G. Sunitha, 35. Five others who were critically injured were admitted to Tanuku Government Hospital. Nine workers escaped with minor injuries.
The tragic incident took place at Anjootambalam Veererkavu Temple in Nileshwaram just after Monday midnight when more than 1500 people were assembled at the temple for the traditional Theyyam festival.
