"At least four buses which were parked at a garage caught fire. Our fire-fighters are at the spot trying to douse the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained," a senior Fire department official said.
Police said that two friends were travelling in the car and all of a sudden, the vehicle started to develop technical snag and smoke started emanating.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Municipal Fire Brigade (MFB) reported that the incident took place at 12:14 am today, with no reported casualties.
As of 5 a.m. on Wednesday, initial figures indicate that around 70 individuals have been rescued and 54 have been transported to hospitals, as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.
The wounded student was promptly taken to AMU's JN Medical College and Hospital. He was reported to be in stable condition, with approximately 25% burn injuries.
