Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of shifting from “vote theft” to “power theft” by introducing bills that could unseat elected leaders within 30 days of arrest. He warned the legislation empowers ED and CBI to destabilise democracy
Interestingly, the manifesto released by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge repeats many of the promises previously made to the people of Telangana—promises that helped bring Congress to power but remain unfulfilled even after 11 months in office.
On his X account, the Congress chief expressed, "I am deeply pained to learn about the tragic incident in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 4 BSF jawans lost their lives and around 28 were injured when the bus transporting them for election duty fell into a gorge."
In his two-page letter, he told the prime minister that he is being misinformed by his advisors about things that are not even written in the 'Nyay Patra'.
During an INDIA alliance meeting, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal proposed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge as the potential prime ministerial candidate for the Opposition coalition in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"Party leaders, including Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, K.C. Venugopal, and state officials like Revanth Reddy, Uttam Reddy, and others, were also in attendance."
Kharge was speaking in the Upper House after the Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the new Women's Reservation Bill earlier today during the first sitting of the Lok Sabha in the new Parliament complex.
