Talking about how film technicians are celebrated in South cinema, Prithviraj told IANS, “Well, for me, cinema is always a team sport. So, an actor's performance can only be good if his co-actors are equally good. And an actor can only be good in a film; I know now that I am a director saying this is a bit modest, but an actor can only be good in a film if the director lets him be good in a film.”

“Self-doubt never leaves you. The basic thing about being an artist is that you question yourself. The day you start thinking, that's it, I'm now fantastic, there's nothing more to be improved upon. It's the day you hang your boots and walk away from this,” Prithiviraj told IANS.

The record was possible because most theaters started their bookings at the same time, leading to an overwhelming response from fans.

Prithviraj said: “Yes, I agree that Malayalam cinema is going through a great phase. We are making great films, and fantastic content consistently for many years now and I hope there is a phase that never ends. I hope this phase is lifelong”

A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, the film is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy.

With an ensemble cast and a massive release, L2: Empuraan is expected to be one of the biggest films of 2025.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal on Tuesday introduced Jathin Ramdas as the character played by actor Tovino Thomas in director Prithviraj’s eagerly awaited political action drama L2: Empuraan (L2E).

Taking to his X timeline, Mohanlal wrote, “Character No 06 Andrea Tivadar as Michele Menuhin in #L2E #EMPURAAN.” He also shared a link to a YouTube video in which Andrea Tivadar spoke about her character in the film.

Mohanlal-starrer L2: Empuraan (L2E) is directed by actor Prithviraj and produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran.

Taking to his X timeline, Mohanlal wrote, “Character No.20 Saniya Iyappan as Jhanvi in #L2E #EMPURAAN.” He also shared a link to a youtube video in which Saniya spoke about her character in the film.

He asserted that “L2: Empuraan” will be a standalone film for people who have not seen “Lucifer”.

Actor Prithviraj, who is the director of the film, too tweeted the first look poster with the same lines. Interestingly, Tovino plays the character Jathin in the film, the first part of which went on to emerge a blockbuster.

The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘Lucifer’, ‘L2: Empuraan’, is currently in production, building on the immense success of its predecessor.
