University of Hyderabad students and research scholars protested against GO MS 4, opposing the weightage given to PhD candidates in degree lecturer recruitment and demanding the government revoke the order and conduct recruitment under the previous system.
They demanded that the NTA should be abolished, NEET exam should be re-conducted, a judicial inquiry should be conducted by the Supreme Court judge on the irregularities of NEET and NET exams.
With an intake of 355 seats, the university announced PhD admissions to 43 different courses for the academic year 2024-25. Except for eight programmes, the admissions in other programmes will be via the NET scores.
