A woman farmer in Warangal district sustained a fracture while trying to climb a gate to secure a urea token amid chaotic distribution at Peddathanda. Officials had restricted token issuance to those already inside the godown premises, prompting panic.
Minister for Agriculture, Thummala Nageswar Rao said the state currently had 60,759 cooperative societies of various types, 908 PACS, 24,539 Consumer and Savings Societies and several Fishery Cooperative Societies.
The officials informed the Minister that about 4 lakh tonnes of buffer stock was available with the Telangana State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (TS Markfed) at present
Incidentally, the Karimnagar DCCB has emerged as the first cooperative bank in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states to announce enhancement of retirement age and health insurance coverage to all its employees.
