Between 2016 and 2020, TSWRIDCL and KIPCL consistently met debt obligations, with annual repayments of Rs 2,500–3,000 crore to REC and Power Finance Corporation (PFC).

This comes after a key meeting on Thursday between Justice Ghose and Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja, where they discussed the progress of the final reports from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) and the vigilance department, both of which are conducting simultaneous investigations into the project, sources revealed.
Some officials have reportedly opted to appear virtually for the inquiry. The commission is focusing on various aspects, including the alleged financial irregularities and technical flaws in the project’s design, planning, and execution.
