Speaking to ANI, sources in the know of developments in the Indian team said that the batsman will need a little more time before he can go full throttle.

A modern-day entertainer who refused to compromise his approach to batting, his contribution to India's domination in one-day cricket and victories in the IPL is indisputable

But there is no clarity on his exclusion for the tour Down Under. Former England captain Michael Vaughan felt that lack of fitness could be the reason for his ouster.

Speaking during a chat, the southpaw said, I agree that both of them are very good and as you rightly said the most devastating batsmen in the modern era. But I would have had my plans for both of them.

Speaking after the match, Rohit said, “DC are a very good side. They have done really well through the tournament. But you have to give credit to our guys. Today they turned up and put huge runs on the board.

However, he was not seen in any discomfort while fielding in the match. Former cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar feels that his return from injury augurs well for the Indian team.

Babar Azam has 837 points, 18 less than Rohit, who is in the second position. Babar has gained valuable rating points to move closer to leading Indian pair of Kohli and Rohit.

Rohit Sharma, who returned to lead the side after recovering from hamstring injury, said they wanted to forget the loss as soon as possible.

Rohit, currently on the sidelines of Mumbai Indians squad in the ongoing IPL owing to injury, was left out of the Australian tour.

Team India coach Ravi Shastri opines that Rohit might have wanted to test the level of injury himself.

"Earlier it was told that he is unwell, if he is unwell then what is he doing inside the stadium?", Sehwag said.

BCCI did not throw much light on Rohit's fitness and just stated that it is monitoring his progress while announcing the three teams for the Australia tour on Monday

Table-toppers MI are on course to make it to the play-offs but the game is crucial for Rajasthan, who are languishing at seventh place and a loss would mean a step closer to elimination

With the embarrassing loss, CSK are all but out of reckoning for the playoffs with just six points from 11 games, while MI jumped to the top spot with 14 points from 10 matches

After the bowlers restricted KKR to 148 for five, opener Quinton de Kock blazed his way to 78 off 44 balls to complete the task for Mumbai on Friday.
