Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that Singareni Collieries Company Limited will participate in upcoming coal block auctions and diversify into energy and mineral sectors. The move comes after the company lost Rs. 60,000 crore in potential revenue due to previous auction restrictions. Singareni has already secured mineral exploration licences in Karnataka and is planning global operations under the banner ‘Singareni Global’.

SCCL, which has expanded its operations beyond coal excavation into power generation, is setting up a Geochemical Laboratory in Kothagudem at a cost of Rs.15 crore. The lab will specialise in analysing rare earth elements (REEs) and critical minerals found in the company’s coal mines and power plants.

Singareni Collieries has earned national-level Five Star Ratings for four of its coal mines under the Ministry of Coal’s annual performance evaluation. CMD N. Balram received the awards in Mumbai from Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, marking a first-time achievement of this scale for SCCL.
