Three children died in separate drowning incidents in Kerala's Malappuram and Kottayam districts as heavy rain raised water levels. The victims, aged three, four and 11, drowned in streams and a rainwater-filled construction pit, police said

Though the people present near the stream immediately rescued the children and rushed them to hospital, they died while undergoing treatment.
