Factionalism within the Congress resurfaced in Sangareddy after appointments of mandal and town party presidents triggered protests. Leaders accused Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar and Agam Chandrashekhar of making unilateral appointments and demanded intervention from the TPCC leadership.
Party leaders also pointed out that even when the Congress government announced nominated posts earlier, all three allotted to the erstwhile Medak district went to leaders from Sangareddy alone.
All the assembly segments in both the Lok Sabha constituencies attracted a huge number of voters beginning from morning except the Patancheru assembly segment
Apart from Gali Anil Kumar of BRS, Suresh Shetkar of Congress and BB Patil of BJP, there were six other candidates in the election from recognised political parties.
Reddy maintained that he would also get an ITI exclusively for women besides building a library for the Narayankhed assembly constituency where many students topped the recently announced intermediate results.
Assuring to implement all the schemes, he said the Congress still had more than four years of its tenure left and would implement all promises under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
