Over a year after Telangana’s Congress government announced a loan waiver for weavers, the scheme remains bogged down in restrictive conditions and slow verification. While Rs. 33 crore has been released, the average assistance per weaver is just Rs. 10,200, sparking criticism.

KTR extended National Handloom Day greetings to Telangana weavers, applauding their talent and resilience. he highlighted the state's efforts to uplift the handloom sector through welfare schemes and support initiatives.

Public Policy Expert D Narasimha Reddy demanded the govt allocate Rs.500 crore for the welfare and development of weavers in the State.
