Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticised Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for not responding to his request for a meeting on finalising the height of the proposed Tummidihatti barrage on the Godavari River.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking discussions on revising the height of the Tummidihatti barrage under the Pranahita-Chevella Project to better meet irrigation and drinking water requirements of North Telangana districts
The Telangana government has proposed reducing the height of the Tummidihatti barrage to 150 metres to balance water utilisation and minimise submergence in Maharashtra. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare proposals, and initiate talks with the Maharashtra government.
With regard to repair works at Medigadda, he said the works would be taken up on the basis of recommendations made by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA).
