The World Bank intends to finance the state government towards the cost of the "Women's Empowerment and Inclusive Social Protection Programme" and apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
Malpass also called on countries with surplus doses to release it for use by developing countries, and for vaccine manufacturers to prioritise the available doses for the developing countries that so urgently need them.
The panel noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented public health, economic and social crisis, threatening the lives and livelihoods of millions.
