Sangareddy: The treatment by a registered medical practitioner (RMP) resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy in a remote village in Sangareddy district on Friday.
The boy, Begari Prasanthi (14), of Shelgira in Manoor mandal, was taken to a local RMP Yunus on September 17 as he was suffering from cold and cough.
Yunus reportedly administered two injections and prescribed some medicines to the boy. However, the boy developed an infection on his body after he was administered the injection. As the situation worsened, Prasanth was taken to Yunus on the following day when the RMP gave some medicine.
As the boy’s condition continued to deteriorate, his father Begari Lakshman took him to the RMP again on Friday when Yunus suggested the parents take him to a hospital. The boy died while he was being taken to a hospital in nearby Bidar town in Karnataka state.
Holding Yunus responsible for his son’s death, Lakshman filed a case in Manoor police station. SI Koteshwar Rao registered a case. The probe is underway.
