Telangana Assembly adjourned after condolence motion for Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath
The Telangana Assembly adjourned to Sunday morning after passing a condolence motion for the late Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath. Legislators across parties paid tributes, highlighting his work for both affluent and marginalised communities in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Assembly was adjourned to 9 am on Sunday after passing a condolence motion over the demise of Jubilee Hills MLA, the late Maganti Gopinath on Saturday.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, while moving the motion, said: “The House places on record its deep sense of sorrow at the demise of Maganti Gopinath and conveys its deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.”
Following Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu, BRS working president KT Rama Rao paid tributes. “Maganti Gopinath was an ardent admirer of former Chief Minister late NT Rama Rao. He distributed sarees to women in his constituency during Bathukamma festivities before the scheme was formally launched by the government,” he said.
Though Gopinath represented the upmarket Jubilee Hills constituency, KT Rama Rao said he also worked for the welfare of the poor and marginalised in Borabanda, Rahmathnagar, Yousufguda and other areas.
BJP MLA K Venkataramana Reddy, AIMIM MLA Ahmed Bin Balala, CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao and several other legislators recalled his services.
In a notable development, BRS MLAs who had defected, including Kadiyam Srihari, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Tellam Venkat Rao, Arekepudi Gandhi and Kale Yadaiah, took their seats in the last row, away from the BRS benches. Similarly, Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh, suspended from the BJP, was seen exchanging pleasantries with BJP legislators in the House.
Meanwhile, a State Cabinet meeting is underway in the Assembly premises under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
