Hyderabad: Backward Classes leaders and organizations are up in arms against the Congress government charging that in the guise of a caste survey, injustice was being meted to the community. Stating that the caste survey report was plagued with errors, the BC leaders tore apart copies of the “Socio, Economic, Educational, Employment, Political and Caste Survey” report.
Representatives from different BC organizations, under the aegis of BC Intellectual Forum, met at a hotel here on Tuesday. BC Welfare Association president Jajula Srinivas Goud said any attempt to cut down the BC population or belittle BC leaders would have dire consequences. The BCs, who helped Congress achieve the power in the State, would dig a political grave for the party, he warned.
The Congress government failed to conduct the survey in a transparent and scientific method. As a result, it was marred with errors and this could be cross-checked with the Samagra Kutumbha Survey (SKS) conducted by the previous government, he said.
“All the errors in the caste survey should be corrected within 48 hours. The updated caste report should be placed in public domain,” Srinivas Goud demanded, adding that in case the government did not rectify the mistakes in the report, a meeting would be held with different BC organizations on Thursday.
