Hyderabad: State BJP president N Ramchander Rao came down heavily on the Congress government on Tuesday, stating that conditions in several colonies and bastis in the Jubilee Hills constituency were deplorable.
He said that despite Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy holding the Municipal Administration and Urban Development portfolio, residents continued to face severe hardships due to the absence of a proper drainage system, damaged roads, open manholes and defunct streetlights in the constituency. He was addressing an election meeting in the Erragadda division.
Highlighting several local issues troubling residents, the BJP chief said that despite a ban on loud music and DJs after 9.30 pm, the authorities had failed to enforce the rules. Alleging that the State government had completely failed to resolve public issues, he said it was time for change.
He also described the establishment of a burial ground in the middle of a residential colony in Erragadda as an insensitive act, alleging that it exposed the Congress government’s appeasement politics to win the confidence of a community.
