Telangana: Contract lecturer misbehaves with girl students in Khammam, parents demand action
Leaders of different student unions and parents appealed to the police to arrest the accused and book him under POCSO Act
Khammam: Parents of students demanded serious action against a contract lecturer for allegedly harassing girl students sexually at the Government Girls Junior College in Khammam.
When the parents complained to the college principal and warden of SC (Girls) Hostel where the students stay against the accused, K Harishankar of Khammam, they reportedly hushed up the matter.
Then the parents took the matter to the notice of higher officials following which the district intermediate officer Ravi Babu conducted an enquiry into the issue on Friday.
The leaders of different student unions and parents appealed to the police to arrest the accused and book him under POCSO Act as well as Atrocities Prevention Act. The accused was said to have been absconding.
