Telangana: Early monsoon boosts inflows into Jurala, Srisailam

Hyderabad: Reservoirs across the upper Krishna basin are steadily swelling following early monsoon rain, with Jurala and Srisailam showing significant water level rises, according to Central Water Commission report on Wednesday.
Jurala reservoir currently stands at 1,043.01 feet, just two feet below its full reservoir level (FRL) of 1,045.00 feet. It holds 8.43 TMC of water against a gross capacity of 9.66 TMC, with an inflow of 18,767 cusecs and an outflow of 1,683 cusecs.
Srisailam project levels are at 833.90 feet (FRL 885.00 feet), storing 33.75 TMC of water from its total capacity of 215.81 TMC. The reservoir is receiving 21,344 cusecs while releasing 2,219 cusecs.
Nagarjuna Sagar is receiving inflows of over 4,000 cusecs, mainly sourced from water used for power generation at Srisailam Hydel Units. Almatti reservoir, upstream of Jurala, holds water at 1,686.15 feet (FRL 1,705.00 feet) and is releasing 20,000 cusecs downstream.
In the Godavari basin, Jaikwadi reservoir holds 48.59 TMC (capacity 102.73 TMC) with an outflow of 919 cusecs, while Sriram Sagar stores 12.79 TMC out of 80.50 TMC capacity.
Sripada Yellampalli stands at 468.57 feet (FRL 485.56 feet), holding 8.67 TMC from a total capacity of 20.18 TMC, with an inflow of 845 cusecs and an outflow of 669 cusecs.
