Forest officials record pug marks of a tiger they encountered on Tuesday
Mancherial: Forest officials were in a shock when they came directly in front of a tiger resting in a canal on the outskirts of Dubbagudem village in Kasipet mandal on Tuesday.
Muthyampalli deputy range officer Praveen Naik said that Forest beat officer Shankar, Yugander and Kumara Swamy were shocked when the three officials saw the female tiger barely around 10 metres away. He stated that the tiger disappeared from the spot after noticing the officials. He added that it might have settled in the bushes near the canal.
The officials further said that the tiger might settle down in the forests or mango orchards and cotton farms, and water sources considering conducive living conditions in particular peace of the landscape for the next day or two. They recalled that a tiger stayed in this landscape before crossing the national highway and entering Bellampalli range during the same period in 2024.
According to the officials, the tiger migrated to the district from Tiryani mandal of neighbouring Jagtial district in search of territory a few weeks back. It was roaming in the forests of Kannala village in Bellampalli mandal till Monday. It started into the forests of Dubbagudem village under Mancherial forest division on Tuesday.
