Telangana Govt asked to include aquaculture courses at Young India Skills University

Hyderabad: Telangana State Fisheries Federation former chairman and Telangana Fisheries Society founder president Pittala Ravinder urged the State government to introduce fisheries and aquaculture courses at the newly established Young India Skills University in Telangana.
He emphasised the need to include courses in aquaculture, value addition, fish food exports, and modern fisheries techniques.
In a statement, Ravinder explained about the Telangana’s abundant freshwater resources, and urged the State government to introduce specialised courses to equip youth with advanced skills in fisheries.
He also called for the establishment of a dedicated university for inland fisheries in Telangana.
In a memorandum to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, he stressed that developing the fisheries sector is crucial for the State’s economy, benefiting over 12 per cent of the population reliant on this industry.
