Hyderabad: In a move aimed at providing flexibility to students facing unforeseen situations, the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) announced that those who failed to turn up for the ongoing practical exams can seek rescheduling. However, such students must present a genuine and valid reason.
The new initiative will offer students an opportunity to reschedule their practical examinations if they face personal emergencies, health issues or other valid circumstances that prevent them from attending the examination.
The practical exams are being conducted in four spells with the first concluding on Friday. The second spell is scheduled from February 8-12 and the third from February 13-17, while the fourth will be held from February 18-22.
To initiate the process, students must submit their application to the district examination committee. Based on the request, the committee going case-by-case will provide a new slot in the given four spells of exams. However, such requests will not be entertained if students are unable to attend the practical examination in the last spell.
“We are providing an opportunity for students to reschedule their practical exams, provided they have valid reasons. The idea is that students should not miss the practical exams. The district examination committees have been authorised to permit students on a case-by-case basis,” said S Krishna Aditya, Secretary of TG BIE.
The Board has already received requests rescheduling their exams citing reasons, including attending Maha Kumbh, accidents and NCC-B certificate examinations.
Meanwhile, the first spell of practical examinations is being conducted smoothly across 838 centres under CCTV surveillance, which are being monitored via the command control centre established in the Board office here.
All government and private junior colleges have set up the cameras, which will be moved to chief superintendent rooms during the conduct of the theory examinations, Krishna Aditya said.
