The government can focus on effective implementation of the scheme in Huzurabad constituency and address glitches, if any, at the time of implementation, he said.
Hyderabad: Buddhavanam Project Special Officer Mallepally Laxmaiah on Monday welcomed the State government’s move to conduct a pilot project of Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad Assembly constituency before it is implemented across the State.
“Given the benefits provided under the Dalit Bandhu scheme, there will be demand from other constituencies to implement the scheme in their limits at the earliest, but it is a wise move to conduct a pilot project,” he said.
The government can focus on effective implementation of the scheme in Huzurabad constituency and address glitches, if any, at the time of implementation, he said. Further, the government can also monitor closely the implementation and get feedback from officials and local leaders, he said.
Laxmaiah also suggested that the government utilise the services of retired Dalit employees and officers from different departments for the implementation of the scheme. “They have vast experience and are well-versed with field operations. Each officer can be offered a jurisdiction of 100 to 200 houses or a particular area for effective implementation,” he said.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s instruction to officials to focus on constant monitoring on implementation, evaluation of results and feedback and creation of safety fund for beneficiaries was a mature move, he said, adding that this speaks volumes of his commitment to the welfare of Dailts.
Since the aim of Dalit Bandhu scheme was to elevate Dalit families from their present living conditions to higher levels, the Chief Minister’s emphasis on the need to have official machinery, which works with heart and soul for effective implementation of the scheme, was also commendable, he added.
