Mancherial: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said his office would take up repatriation of the body of Cheetaki Raju, a native of Luxettipet town, who died in a road mishap in Australia on Sunday night.
Responding to a tweet posted by Ragula Sampath, the Minister said: “We will take care in tandem with the Indian Embassy in Australia,” and tagged the Twitter handle of his office. Sampath, a friend of the deceased, urged Rama Rao to help Komaraiah, the father who was struggling to get back the body of his son to India.
The eldest son, a flour mill owner and engineering graduate, Raju (30) migrated to Australia to pursue Masters in 2018. He settled there after getting a job with the Postal Department. He died on the spot when the car in which he was travelling along with friends rammed a tree in Queensland, shattering the dreams of his parents.
Raju’s parents were devastated since his marriage was scheduled to take place in March. They also said they were not in a position to bear the cost of repatriation.
