Hyderabad: The Telangana Model Schools Teachers Association (TMSTA) on Wednesday demanded the State government to immediately release all five pending DA arrears to teaching staff as a single payment.
In a representation submitted to the Education department secretary Dr. Yogita Rana, TMSTA president B Yakamallu detailed that DA arrears to the tune of 124 instalments have not yet been paid to Model School Teachers. This is causing severe financial hardships to teaching staff who have been waiting for their dues for several years, he said.
As the State government has already initiated measures to release DA arrears to employees of other government departments, the Model School teachers wanted the government to treat them on par with other employees and release all pending DA arrears, taking into account the rising cost of living and the hike in prices of essential commodities.
