Hyderabad: The Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation (TS UTF) demanded that the State government establish a dedicated and special mechanism for inspection and monitoring of government schools, instead of assigning it to regular teaching staff.
In a representation submitted at the Chief Minister’s office here on Tuesday, TS UTF president Chava Ravi and general secretary A Venkat requested the government to immediately withdraw the decision to deploy regular teachers for inspection duties.
Further, the teachers body said the existing DEOs, DyDEOs, MEOs and complex headmasters could be used for school inspections. It called for the creation of additional posts to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and insisted that inspections be done only through specialised administrative setup but not by teachers.
Ravi and Venkat warned that assigning teachers as inspecting officers could lead to complications, regarding cadre and seniority besides harming students’ learning outcomes.
