Khammam: Telangana Rythu Sangham leaders have demanded that the government scrap the urea app and ensure that urea is supplied to every farmer who owns cultivable land.
The sangham’s district secretary, Bonthu Rambabu, and vice-president, Duggi Krishna, submitted a representation to Agriculture Department officials on Tuesday following a call given by the sangham State committee.
The introduction of the app and making it mandatory for urea distribution has prevented farmers who own land from obtaining urea because they do not possess pattadar passbooks. Urea should be supplied to every farmer owning land, irrespective of whether they possess pattadar passbooks or not, Rambabu demanded.
The sangham leaders also demanded the release of pending Rythu Bharosa funds for both the rabi and kharif seasons, pointing out that while the government had deposited funds for up to two acres during the rabi season, the remaining amounts had not been released.
