Telangana Sizzles: Adilabad crosses 45 degree Celsius again

  Telangana is reeling under an intense heatwave, with Adilabad hitting 45.3°C and nearby districts like Nizamabad and Ramagundam also crossing 43°C. Hyderabad recorded up to 41.4°C, prompting IMD alerts as widespread heat stress continues across the state.

Hyderabad: The severe heatwave conditions have continued to push the mercury to critical levels, with Adilabad district again recording a high of 45.3 degree Celsius in the last 24-hours.  Multiple locations even in Hyderabad recorded maximum temperatures ranging from 41.4 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius between Monday and Tuesday morning.

Based on India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad weather data, the northern and western districts are bearing the brunt of the heatwave. Adilabad has emerged as the hottest spot in Telangana, recording a blistering maximum temperature of 45.3 degree celsius, which is 3.5 degree Celsius higher than usual for this time of year. Nearby Nizamabad followed closely behind, recording 44.7 degree Celsius, prompting the weather authorities to issue a red alert for these regions.


Ramagundam recorded a high of 43.2 degree Celsius, while Mahabubnagar reached 42 degree C. Central and eastern regions like Medak, Khammam, and Nalgonda all crossed the 41 degree Celsius mark, signaling widespread heat stress.

In the capital city, residents are facing equally grueling conditions as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Council (GHMC) area sizzles. The highest temperature in the city was recorded at the Begumpet station, which hit 41.4 degree Celsius, followed by Rajendra Nagar at 41 degree Celsius. The maximum temperatures in both Hayath Nagar and Patancheru ranged between 40.6 degree Celsius and and 40.8 degree Celsius.
