Peddapalli: A fortnight-long campaign to promote cleanliness and sustainable living, Swachhta Pakhwada began in National Thermal Power Corporation (Ramagundam & Telangana) on Friday.

The initiative, scheduled from May 16 to 31, reflects NTPC’s unwavering commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. On the occasion, all participants took the Swachhta Pledge in both Hindi and English, reaffirming their dedication to cleanliness and hygiene.

Later, they took part in a Safai Abhiyaan, contributing to the collective effort to keep the surroundings clean.

Further Prabhat Pheri was held from the main shopping complex to the main gate led by Executive Director, NTPC (R&T) Chandan Kumar Samanta. Addressing the gathering, ED highlighted the importance of integrating cleanliness into daily life.

“Swachhta should not be limited to a specific fortnight, it should be celebrated every day as Swachhta Diwas,” he stated, urging township residents to take collective responsibility for maintaining hygiene in their surroundings.

General Manager (Operations) KC Singha Roy, Deepthi Mahila Samithi president Rakhi Samanta, senior DMS members Roopa Singha Roy, Central NBC member Babar Salim Pasha and NTPC employees and their family members took part in the event.
