TG RERA penalizes Hyderabad-based builder with heavy penalty of Rs 15 lakhs
TG RERA imposed a penalty of Rs 15.29 lakh on Edifice Projects for failing to register its La Bouquet Edifice project in Madinaguda. The builder was also ordered to rectify defects in five villas and comply with RERA regulations within 30 days.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TGRERA) on Friday imposed a penalty of Rs. 15,29,416 on the builder, Edifice Projects (respondent), for non-registration of the real estate project La Bouquet Edifice.
The TG RERA chairman, N Satyanarayana, ordered the penalty to be paid within 30 days from the date of the orders.
Complainants Doppalapudi Anitha, Chalichama Deepti, Cherukuri Sudha Rani and Doppalapudi Srinivas Prasad approached TG RERA stating they executed a development agreement-cum-Irrevocable General Power of Attorney with the builder, Edifice Projects, to complete the construction of 10 villas, on various plots, all put together approximately 3,000 square yards in Madinaguda, within 30 months. But the builder failed to complete them (villas) within the stipulated time, they alleged.
The complainants also raised objections regarding levelling and elevation of the villas, which the respondent built after repeated pleas and deviations too. Complainants also expressed their dissatisfaction with the construction quality.
On verification of the documents, the TG RERA directed the respondents to rectify the defects and deficiencies in the villas (Nos: 3,4,5,9, and 10) following the specifications and issued directions to the builder regarding registration of the project.
