Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) on Friday announced that it has successfully conducted all eight Telangana Common Entrance Tests (TG CETs), including EAPCET, ECET, ICET, EdCET, LAWCET and PGLCET, covering around 18 professional programmes. These CETs witnessed over 5.22 lakh candidate registrations.
According to TGCHE Chairman Prof V Balakista Reddy, QR codes introduced on hall tickets for the first time have enabled candidates’ easy identification of test centres.
Mock counselling incorporated in engineering admissions helped students understand their probable allotments and make informed choices, he said.
Based on recommendations from the TGCHE-led committee, 100 per cent convener quota seats have been reserved for Telangana students, improving access and opportunity, Prof Reddy said, adding that control over internal sliding in private colleges has been brought under the purview of the CET conveners to ensure merit-based and transparent admissions.
Prof Reddy extended appreciation to Vice Chancellors of the universities, conveners, coordinators, faculty members, and technical teams besides the Police, Electrical and Transport departments, for ensuring smooth conduct of the entrance exams.
