Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), through its technology-driven cyber monitoring, has played a crucial role in dismantling an online network involved in the circulation and sale of Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM).
The operation, aided by TGCSB’s artificial intelligence-based cyber intelligence platform RedPanda, led to the arrest of two persons by the Jharkhand CID Cybercrime Police.
According to officials, the breakthrough came during routine cyber patrolling conducted by TGCSB. The bureau’s advanced AI platform, RedPanda, detected suspicious activity linked to Telegram channels allegedly being used to circulate and monetise illegal child abuse content.
“The system generated intelligence by identifying digital footprints, suspicious communication patterns and content sharing networks operating across online platforms,” said a TGCSB official.
Based on the intelligence gathered by RedPanda, TGCSB shared specific leads with the Jharkhand CID, which recently took up a targeted operation. The raid resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of electronic devices believed to have been used in the illegal activities.
Further investigations discovered more than 3,000 images and videos containing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, which were allegedly being circulated and sold through online channels, with authorities now carrying out forensic analysis of the seized devices to trace the origin of the content, identify buyers and sellers, and uncover any larger network operating behind the illegal trade.
AI usage in cybercrime investigations:
This case is an example of how artificial intelligence is transforming cybercrime investigations. RedPanda, developed and deployed by TGCSB, has emerged as a powerful cyber intelligence tool capable of proactively detecting online threats, monitoring illicit digital activities, and generating leads for law enforcement agencies.
Senior officials said the platform assists investigators in identifying criminal networks that often operate anonymously across encrypted and social media platforms.
Cybercrime authorities believe such networks frequently operate across multiple states, making intelligence sharing and coordinated action essential for effective enforcement.
They have urged citizens to immediately report any online content involving child abuse or exploitation.
