Hyderabad: The Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners (TGEJAC) had announced its support to the ongoing TGSRTC strike.
The TGEJAC wanted the State government to hold talks with the TGSRTC employees and address their long-pending issues.
It was unfortunate that the salaries of TGSRTC employees have not been increased since last six years. The other demands being made by the employees were also legitimate and wanted the government to address their issues at the earliest, the TGEJAC said in a statement issued here on Friday.
The TGEJAC leaders condoled the death of RTC employee K Shankar Goud on Thursday night. The RTC had attempted self-immolation at Narsampet and died while undergoing treatment at Hyderabad.
The TGEJAC appealed to the RTC employees not to take any extreme steps.
“All the 206 unions under TGEJAC are extending full support to the RTC employees. All efforts will be made to achieve the employees’ demands,” the TGEJAC chairman Maram Jagadeeshwar, Secretary General E Sreenivasa Rao and others said in the statement.
