The need of the country is not only qualified and expert engineers or doctors or businessmen or teachers or musicians or actors or sportsmen but engineers or doctors or businessmen— with moral values, with love and concern for the country, our Motherland. Tackling the problem is more important than blaming anybody for its existence.
Today’s generation needs hands-on experience to know the rules followed by nature. Teachers should follow the sequence —— I hear I forget, I see I remember, I do I learn. Mathematics is not a spectator game; you have to play it to understand. Children take a lot of time to understand the fundamentals of Mathematics. An important aspect of learning mathematics is knowing its traits.
Better learning takes place through a sequence — knowledge, understanding and application. Textbooks do not allow teachers to follow this approach of teaching as from ages we have become heavily dependent on them. If we teachers follow and make our own syllabus by writing the concepts to be taught and make assignment sheets based on classification and pattern for each concept, helps the children to get interested in the subject.
The child need not answer all the questions from the textbook but selected questions from many textbooks help for better retention. Teachers teaching mathematics for classes up to X should follow the approach of classification and pattern based on knowledge, understanding and application.
