Jagtial: A three-day Hanuman chinna jayanthi celebrations began in Kondagattu Anjaneyaswamy temple on Friday. Elaborate arrangements have been made for jatara wherein about 2 lakh devotees are likely to take part. About 45,000 devotees, who took hanuman deeksha, are expected to visit the shrine and drop their deeksha.
They have already started to reach the shrine right from the morning. While some of them are arriving at the temple by foot from different places, others are approaching different modes of transportations.
In the wake of heavy rush to throng the shrine, all ‘arjitha sevas’ have been cancelled for three-days. Sevas will resume on April 14. Rs 5 lakh worth prasadams including laddu, pulihora and others have also been prepared and 14 counters were set up to distribute prasadams.
Besides establishing drinking water distribution points in different places, temporary pandals, special queue lines, parking places, temporary toilets and other arrangements were made. Six medical camps are also established to provide treatment to pilgrims. In order to conduct jatara in a peaceful manner, police made tight security arrangements by deploying 860 police personnel including four DSPs, 25 CIs and 60 SIs.
Fifty CCTV cameras have been set up in addition to 60 cameras existing in different places. Parking for the vehicles moving to the temple through JNTU was arranged near Bojjapothana temple and five other places.
Special arrangements have also been made to conduct cultural programmes and 100 seating arrangements. To monitor celebrations, a 12 member Ustava Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Eppa Srinivas Reddy.
Collector B Satya Prasad on Friday visited the shrine and examined jatra arrangements.
