Gadwal: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud on Tuesday inspected the infrastructure development works under progress at the historic Jogulamba temple, Alampur.
Tourism department is constructing food courts, food distribution centre (Annadanam sathram), toilet blocks, banquet hall, canteen, 21 guest rooms, temple illumination and multipurpose building for the convenience of devotees at the temple. All these works are being taken up at a cost of Rs.50 crore.
The Minister reviewed the progress of the works with the officials and instructed them to complete the works as per schedule.
Earlier in the day, the Minister participated in the Rythu Bandu celebrations at Mahabubnagar and said Telangana was the only State in the country that was offering 24 hours free power supply, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima for the farming community.
“In the past, united Andhra Pradesh was ranked 25th in paddy production but after State formation, Telangana is now ranked first surpassing Punjab,” Srinivas Goud said.
Under Rythu Bandhu scheme, over two lakh farmers in Mahabubnagar were being offered Rs.228 crore. Considering the progress in agriculture sector, Central government should accord national status to Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme, he said.
