Hyderabad: With the ban lifted on transfers, the Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam (TPUS) on Thursday demanded the State government immediately release the transfer schedule for teachers.
TPUS president Vodnala Rajasekhar, general secretary Telkalapalli Pentayya and organising secretary Hanmanth Rao wanted teachers to be allowed transfer opportunities based on zero service, stating that this would benefit a large number of teachers.
They also wanted those teachers currently engaged in census duties to be given an opportunity, and that they be allowed to join their new postings after completing census work.
To ensure complete transparency in the transfer process, the TPUS office bearers suggested announcing the list of vacancies in advance and conducting transfers through an online counselling system. They wanted priority given to cases such as spouse transfers, employees nearing retirement, persons with disabilities, widows, and those suffering from serious health issues in the transfers.
The association welcomed the move to give special consideration to medical conditions such as cancer, neurosurgery, kidney and liver transplants, and heart surgeries. It urged the government to hold a meeting with teachers’ associations before announcing the transfer schedule.
