Mancherial: Two persons from Maharashtra were booked under the Preventive Detention Act and were sent to Central Prison in Cherlapalli for allegedly selling spurious cotton seeds and cheating gullible farmers. An order to this effect was issued by Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Sathyanarayana on Thursday.
According to the order, the accused traders were Nithin Prakash Mahanth and Manoj Sesha Rao, residents of Nagpur district in Maharashtra. Chennur Rural Inspector Nagaraju and Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Nagaraju handed over the order to the two. The traders were involved in sale of seeds and were targeting farmers belonging to different parts of Mancherial district for quite a long time.
