Treasure hunt turns tragic: Man electrocuted in Jagtial
A treasure hunt in Kandlapalli village of Bheerpur mandal, Jagtial district, ended in tragedy when a 51-year-old man was electrocuted while digging for a supposed hidden treasure inside a house. Police registered a case based on a complaint from his wife and have launched an investigation.

Jagtial: A treasure hunt ended in tragedy when a man was electrocuted in Kandlapalli of Bheerpur mandal on Sunday. Nagaveni Mogili, 51, died while attempting to unearth a supposed hidden treasure inside a house.
The homeowners, Sriramula Mallesh and Navathi, suspected that a secret treasure was buried on their premises. They reportedly sought the help of Mogili from Anantharam, Varikoppula Somaiah from Govindpalli and Bairaveni Raju from Dammannapeta to dig it out.
In their effort, they dug an eight-feet deep pit inside the house. While attempting to climb out of the pit, Mogili suffered an electric shock after his hand accidentally came into contact with an electric board.
He was immediately rushed to Jagtial hospital, but died on the way. Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife Lavanya, police registered a case and began investigations.
