Hyderabad: The TRS MPs on Tuesday expressed utter disappointment over the union Budget 2022-23, terming it as useless budget which does not benefit any section of the society. They termed the union Budget as anti-farmer, anti-poor, anti-workers and anti-people. The criticised the Centre for not sanctioning any specific project or funds to Telangana.

Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi, TRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao said there were no concrete measures to reduce the inflation of 6.9 per cent. He said the Centre reduced budget allocations for various sectors including rural development from Rs 2.7 lakh crore in the 2021-22 budget to Rs 2.6 lakh crore in the 2022-23 budget, and marginally increased allocations by Rs 1,500 crore for health sector and just 1.5 per cent hike for agriculture sector when compared to the current fiscal.

“The allocations for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme have been reduced by 25 per cent. Though the union Finance Minister admitted that around 50 per cent of population was now residing in urban areas, no such scheme was announced for benefit of the urban poor to guarantee their employment,” he added.

TRS Lok Sabha floor leader Nama Nageshwara Rao said the Centre was trying to encroach upon the State subject like land by introducing ‘One Nation One Registration’. He said though Nirmala Sitharaman announced plans on paddy procurement, she did not respond to the protests by TRS MPs demanding the Centre to increase paddy procurement from Telangana.
