Hyderabad: Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSNPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director A Gopal Rao has directed the engineers and officials to ensure there is no disruption in power supply during the summer across TSNPDCL limits.
In a release here on Tuesday, Gopal Rao said all arrangements are in place to meet the power demand during the current summer season, besides Kharif and Rabi seasons in 2021-22. “Since State formation, power consumption has increased manifold compared to the demand prior to 2014,” he said.
The TSNPDCL CMD said the average daily maximum power supply was 43.38 million units in TSNPDCL limits after State formation, which shot up to 110.90 million units last year. Despite the steep increase in power demand, he assured that there would be no power cuts during the ongoing summer across the TSNPDCL limits.
As part of arrangements to ensure uninterrupted free power supply to the farm sector, instructions have been issued to all the superintending engineers and assistant engineers to monitor the supply position from their respective 33/11 KV sub-stations during peak load daily till the summer season ends, he said.
This will be constantly monitored by the operations wing from the corporate office, especially the load despatch, he informed.
In view of the expected damages due to heat wave conditions, instructions have been issued to the officials to maintain healthy rolling stock of distribution transformers, electricity poles, and other required materials, besides alerting the contractors to arrange the materials well in advance.
He appealed to the consumers to lodge complaints or alert officials in case of any untoward incident on toll free numbers 1912 or 18004250028 or on www.tsnpdcl.in website.
Directions issued to TSNPDCL staff
– To ensure that load on power and distribution transformers is not beyond 70 percent
– To regularly check oil levels in the transformers to avoid leakage
– To operate Capacitors banks for long hours to meet and coordinate the power demand due to constant use of ACs
– to fill water in earth pits at sub stations daily
– Identify overload transformers and initiate measures for reducing the load
– SEs and Section Officers to be equipped with required materials to handle any emergency situations.
