Kumaram Bheem Asifabad: A few good samaritans came forward to extend financial support to the daily earner’s daughter Dongre Mamatha, who was struggling to realize her dream of pursuing a medicine course. A report was carried in these columns narrating the inability of Mamatha belonging to Thungeda village in Rebbena mandal on Monday.
Responding to the report, Dr Allala Srinivas Reddy, a Jagtial-based pediatrician told ‘Telangana Today’ that he would donate Rs 10,000 and would take care of the girl in fulfilling her dream. He had shared the report and requested philanthropists to generously contribute donations for the cause. He has been serving the needy since 20 years.
Meanwhile, Kasturi Sri Charan, an educationist from Nalgonda assured financial assistance to the girl. “I am ready to bear the expenses involved in pursuing MBBS for Mamatha,” he declared. Sri Charan had sponsored education to many financially poor students through his voluntary organization Kasturi Foundation. The organization donated stationery to students of government schools of Mancherial district in the past.
Mamatha said that Dr Indira Priyadarshini belonging to Hyderabad contacted her and promised to extend all support once her admission was finalised. A woman of Hyderabad donated Rs 10,000 for the education of the girl. She, however, requested not to disclose her name. Locals are trying to provide monetary help to the bright student by way of contributions, she stated. She thanked all those who responded to the report and helped her.
Mamatha excelled in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-2021 by securing 512 marks as against the total of 720 marks. She got 2,514th rank in the entrance, under Scheduled Caste category. She, however, was struggling to fulfill her dream of continuing higher education considering the weak financial background of her parents. Her ambition was to become a gynecologist and to serve rural women.
