Mahabubnagar: Even after the completion of municipal elections and the election of Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders are allegedly being attacked by Indian National Congress leaders in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal constituency.
Two BRS leaders, B Venkatappa and G Venkataiah, suffered head injuries after they were attacked with stones by local Congress leaders due to political rivalry. The incident occurred on Thursday night in Kosgi municipality. The two BRS leaders were standing at Masaipally under the limits of the fifth ward when Congress leader Yellappa passed by. Noticing them, he stopped and entered into an argument with them. As the argument escalated, Yellappa allegedly attacked the BRS leaders with stones, resulting in head injuries, according to reports.
Local residents, along with BRS leaders, approached the police and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered.
Condemning the attack, BRS leaders appealed to the police to initiate stern action against the accused. They said they would not be cowed down by such intimidating politics and vowed to continue their fight on behalf of the people.

Similarly, in Maddur municipality, members of the Mudiraj community are up in arms against the Chief Minister’s elder brother Tirupati Reddy, alleging that he deceived them in the Chairperson election. They warned that a fitting lesson would be taught to the Congress party at an appropriate time.
There are 16 wards in Maddur municipality. Of these, the Congress won nine wards, the BRS secured six wards and one ward was won by an Independent candidate. Initially, Tirupati Reddy had assured Congress councillor Govind, who belongs to the Mudiraj community, that he would be elected Chairperson.
