Two drug peddlers arrested in Hyderabad
According to the police, Ifthekhar who regularly visits pubs in Mumbai and consumes drugs came into contact with Nigerian drug peddlers there and began supplying drugs to customers.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force raided a star hotel and nabbed two drug peddlers at Nampally here on Wednesday. Police seized 30 grams of heroin and 30 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 3.5 lakh from them. They procured the drugs from dealers from other States and were selling them to customers in the city.
The arrested persons were Ifthekhar Ahmed Waqar Ahmed (34), a watch mechanic from Mumbai and N Krishna Kishore Reddy (45), a marketing executive from Film Nagar and a native of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. One suspect, Mohd Salman from Banjara Hills was absconding.
According to the police, Ifthekhar who regularly visits pubs in Mumbai and consumes drugs came into contact with Nigerian drug peddlers there and began supplying drugs to customers.
“He purchased the drug for Rs 1,500 per gram and sold it to Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000. Salman was supplying him with drugs from Mumbai,” police said, adding that Kishore Reddy, while in Mumbai got addicted and got close to Ifthekhar to procure drugs.
“Kishore Reddy also began supplying drugs and shared the profits. As per the instructions of Salman, Ifthekhar brought Heroin and Mephedrone narcotic drugs from Mumbai and was waiting in the hotel for customers,” police said.
The arrested persons along with the seized material were handed over to the Nampally police for further action.
